Welcome to Family of Believers Worship Center. We are a Christ-centered church committed to spiritual growth, strong families, genuine fellowship, and serving God’s people. Our heart is to help individuals develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, grow through His Word, and find their place in the Kingdom of God. We believe in relationship, not religion, and in creating an atmosphere where lives can be transformed through the renewing of the mind. Our mission is to serve the Lord and His people while strengthening families, building disciples, and encouraging believers to live out their faith every day. As a family of believers, we are growing together, serving together, and believing God for greater things.
Serving God and His people while helping families grow in Christ.
Bring 100 families back to worship, strengthen homes, and grow disciples.
Faith, family, service, spiritual growth, love, unity, and excellence.
Family of Believers Worship Center was born from a deeply personal realization within Pastor Roberto A. Dial’s own family. Pastor Dial had always been connected to the church and felt the call of God on his life early on. During the toddler years of his sons, however, regular live worship became difficult and the family often missed service.
As the boys grew older, Pastor Dial realized that although they were growing up in a believing home, they did not yet truly know Jesus Christ for themselves. That moment stirred something in him. He knew his own family needed to return to live worship, and he recognized that many other families had experienced the same drift because of work, children, life changes, and other circumstances.
What began as a concern for his own household became a calling to help bring families back to God.
On Resurrection Sunday in 2022, Family of Believers Worship Center held its first service on Shell Road in Hampton, Virginia. The ministry was founded with a heart for relationship rather than religion, spiritual growth through the Word of God, strengthening families, and helping people develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
In July 2025, God opened the door for FOBWC to move into the historic former St. Paul’s church in Newport News. The building had served generations of worshipers and had long been part of the surrounding community. FOBWC saw an opportunity to honor that history while bringing new life, restoration, worship, and service back into the space.
After months of preparation, prayer, cleaning, repairs, and restoration, FOBWC held its first service in its new home on October 5, 2025.
Today, we continue building with a vision to strengthen families, bring families back into live worship, serve the community, and preserve this historic church as a beautiful house of worship for generations to come.
Meet Our Leadership
Senior Pastor
Pastor Roberto A. Dial felt the call of GOD early on in his life. He has always carried a heart for serving people and helping them grow in Christ. Professionally, he serves as the General Manager of Casey KIA while faithfully pursuing his calling in ministry.
He became an ordained pastor in November of 2016. He began serving through The Summit, a ministry created before there was ever a brick-and-mortar church. His mission was simple: help people develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Long before the Family of Believers Worship Center had a physical location, Pastor Dial was already feeding the flock through daily devotionals. He taught through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. He broke down each chapter verse by verse helping people understand how the Word of GOD applies to everyday life.
That same commitment continues today, as he sends daily devotionals to the congregation and to people far beyond the walls of the church.
With a desire to return to live worship and build a place where families could grow together in Christ, Pastor Dial founded the Family of Believers Worship Center. The first Worship service was on Resurrection Sunday April 17th 2022. The ministry began on Shell Road in Hampton, Virginia, and on October 5, 2025, expanded into its new home at the historic former St. Paul’s church in Newport News.
Pastor Dial is a true shepherd with a heart for his flock. His teaching centers on relationship, not religion, the necessity of being born again, and the transforming power of the Word of GOD. He believes that salvation begins with accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, along with being born again. ~John 3:3. He encourages spiritual transformation by having an intimate relationship with Jesus the Christ. While a person may enter GOD’s house one way, they do not leave the same way that they came in.
As a partner in the community, Pastor Dial has worked with the American Cancer Society for over 10 years. He hosts a Golf Tournament every year for breast cancer awareness. He also volunteers his time as a head coach for the Smithfield Soccer Club where he coaches his twin boys Aden and Braden. Pastor Dial believes that giving back is moving forward in the community.
Pastor Dial is committed to feeding his sheep, strengthening families, and developing disciples. His ministry is grounded in the declaration:
“As for me and this house, we shall serve the Lord.”~ Joshua 24:15
